For the 70 years of Peacekeeping Operations (PKO), AISP / SPIA and the International Peace Academy launched the international Young Peacemakers program at the United Nations Headquarters in Geneva.

AISP /SPIA

The International Association of Peacekeepers (AISP/SPIA) is an association under French law, founded in 1988 by Mr. Laurent ATTAR-BAYROU. With a general consultative status at the United Nations Economic and Social Council since 1995, its main mission is to extend, on a humanitarian and diplomatic level, the actions undertaken in the field within the framework of peacekeeping operations. It assists in the reconversion and recognition of the rights of former peacekeepers, as well as in remembrance activities. In addition, it contributes to humanitarian development and emergency actions, by assisting the victims of a conflict, by conducting de-mining operations or by raising public awareness on these issues.

Without neglecting its primary vocation of expertise and information, the AISP / SPIA has created the International Peace Academy. This project, unique in the world because of its threefold vocation (to teach, to raise awareness, to advise), wishes to enable the public concerned to better understand war and above all to learn about Peace.

Today, AISP / SPIA has several delegations and many members in more than 25 countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Ecuador, Finland, France, Hungary, Indonesia, Ireland, Kenya, Luxembourg, Mongolia, Norway, Panama, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Czech Republic, Russia, Senegal, Slovakia, Sweden, and Ukraine.

Thus, the AISP / SPIA wants to be a real force of proposal for the United Nations and the international community, bringing answers to humanity's problems such as peace, security, climate change, sustainable development and Human rights.

The International Peace Academy

The International Association of Peacekeepers established the International Peace Academy for conflict resolution and training of future diplomats.

This training center aims to promote access to knowledge and a culture of peace. In order to allow any interested individual to get involved and collaborate in the peacekeeping process; diplomatic, administrative, legal, military or humanitarian.

All training is provided with a desire to link the association with states, national and international agencies. Students will be trained to work in any type of peace mission around the world.

This training is part of a long process put in place by the United Nations, which wishes to deepen peacekeeping operations. Indeed, the environment of these interventions requires a pedagogy intended to sensitize future actors of the peacekeeping operations so that they adapt to the emergency situations or of conflicts which can appear.
