December4Peace : introduction of Maeva's artwork

From November the 20th to December the 20th 2020, the December4Peace Contest took place, organized by the Soldiers of Peace International Association (SPIA/AISP) and supported by the International Peace Academy. This contest was organized as part of the Young Peacekeepers Program.

The contest aimed at illustrating one of the International Day of the United Nations thrgouhout various types of arts (drawing, painting, dancing etc) to raise awareness of important issues. We therefore received many artworks amongst them dealing with the abolishment of slavery, human solidarity, the international mountain day…

Here Maeva’s artwork :

She is very interested in the project and she wanted to pay a tribute to her father dead for France in Lebanon and to all the injured soldiers. When she came at the SPAI/AISP premises, we could ask her questions about the message she wanted to pass through her artwork. The dove is set free by soldiers giving their life to protect and set free civilians suffering from conflicts.

Votes will take place in February in order to elect the winner.
